Our Liberation War
The name of our country is Bangladesh. Before 1971 it was known as East Pakistan. Then we were the part of Pakistan. East Pakistan started to oppress us in many ways. They did not give our rights. On 25th March 1971 the Pakistani army invaded our mother land. They killed many people and injured lot. Many women were tortured by them. Many people fled to India to survive. But people could not bear any more. They made themselves ready to protect the invaded army. Many common people, with the help of Indian government, fought against them. They fought for Liberation. So it is called Liberation War of Bangladesh. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the supreme leader and was the leader and General Ataul Gani Osmani was the Army Chief. People fought for nine month and after nine month we gained our liberation by dint of sacrifice of the lives of 3 million people. Now we are a free nation. We remember the freedom fighters with great respect.

আমাদের মুক্তিযুদ্ধ
আমাদের দেশের নাম বাংলাদেশ। ১৯৭১ সালের আগে এটি পূর্ব পাকিস্তান নামে পরিচিত ছিল। তখন আমরা পাকিস্তানের অংশ ছিলাম। পূর্ব পাকিস্তান আমাদের উপর নানাভাবে অত্যাচার শুরু করে। তারা আমাদের অধিকার দেয়নি। ১৯৭১ সালের ২৫শে মার্চ পাকিস্তানি বাহিনী আমাদের মাতৃভূমি আক্রমণ করে। তারা বহু মানুষকে হত্যা করেছে এবং অনেককে আহত করেছে। তাদের হাতে অনেক নারী নির্যাতনের শিকার হয়েছেন। বাঁচতে অনেকেই ভারতে পালিয়েছে। কিন্তু মানুষ আর সহ্য করতে পারল না। হানাদার বাহিনীকে রক্ষা করার জন্য তারা নিজেদের প্রস্তুত করেছিল। ভারত সরকারের সহায়তায় অনেক সাধারণ মানুষ তাদের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই করেছিল। তারা মুক্তিযুদ্ধ করেছে। তাই একে বাংলাদেশের মুক্তিযুদ্ধ বলা হয়। বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান ছিলেন সর্বোচ্চ নেতা এবং নেতা এবং জেনারেল আতাউল গণি ওসমানী ছিলেন সেনাপ্রধান। জনগণ নয় মাস যুদ্ধ করেছে এবং নয় মাস পর ৩০ লাখ মানুষের প্রাণের বিনিময়ে আমরা আমাদের মুক্তি পেয়েছি। এখন আমরা স্বাধীন জাতি। আমরা শ্রদ্ধাভরে স্মরণ করি মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের।
