To cross the border among countries there is no alternative than English. English is the most living language of the world. It is widely accepted as a means of international communication among the different countries of the world. English is not only an international language but also a treasure house of knowledge of all kinds. The best books on different branches of modern science, technology and others are mostly written in English. Hence, students must know English well to understand the language and to grasp the knowledge contained in these books. We can not be able to produce good doctor’s, skilled technicians and efficient engineers if our students do not have adequate knowledge of English. In other words, we can say that in order to keep pace with the advanced and developed countries, we are to learn English well. Moreover, English has a rich literature. If we stop studying English, there is a possibility that we shall be cut off from the tide of modern western civilization. Learning English offers us a great opportunities to get good jobs both home and abroad. Above all, anybody: willing to get higher education in science and technology or any other subjects needs the knowledge of English. So everybody should learn English well.

বিশ্বের ভাষা হিসাবে, ইংরেজিকে সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভাষা বলা যেতে পারে কারণ এটি জীবনের বিভিন্ন দিকের উপর প্রভাব ফেলে। দেশের মধ্যে সীমান্ত অতিক্রম করতে হলে ইংরেজি ছাড়া কোনো বিকল্প নেই। ইংরেজি পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে জীবন্ত ভাষা। এটি বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশের মধ্যে আন্তর্জাতিক যোগাযোগের মাধ্যম হিসেবে ব্যাপকভাবে স্বীকৃত। ইংরেজি শুধুমাত্র একটি আন্তর্জাতিক ভাষা নয়, এটি সব ধরনের জ্ঞানের ভান্ডারও। আধুনিক বিজ্ঞান, প্রযুক্তি এবং অন্যান্য শাখার সেরা বইগুলি বেশিরভাগই ইংরেজিতে লেখা। তাই ভাষা বুঝতে এবং এই বইগুলিতে থাকা জ্ঞান উপলব্ধি করতে শিক্ষার্থীদের অবশ্যই ইংরেজি ভালভাবে জানতে হবে। আমাদের শিক্ষার্থীদের ইংরেজিতে পর্যাপ্ত জ্ঞান না থাকলে আমরা ভালো ডাক্তার, দক্ষ প্রযুক্তিবিদ ও দক্ষ প্রকৌশলী তৈরি করতে পারব না। অন্য কথায়, আমরা বলতে পারি যে উন্নত এবং উন্নত দেশগুলির সাথে তাল মিলিয়ে চলতে হলে আমাদের ইংরেজি ভালভাবে শিখতে হবে। তাছাড়া ইংরেজিতে সমৃদ্ধ সাহিত্য রয়েছে। আমরা যদি ইংরেজি পড়া বন্ধ করি, তাহলে আধুনিক পশ্চিমা সভ্যতার জোয়ার থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। ইংরেজি শেখা আমাদের দেশে এবং বিদেশে ভাল চাকরি পাওয়ার একটি দুর্দান্ত সুযোগ দেয়। সর্বোপরি, যে কেউ: বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বা অন্য কোনো বিষয়ে উচ্চশিক্ষা পেতে ইচ্ছুক ইংরেজির জ্ঞান থাকা প্রয়োজন। তাই সবার উচিত ইংরেজি শেখা।
