Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born on March 17,1920 in Tungipara village in Gopalganj subdivision (at present district) of Faridpur in the eastern part of the province of Bengal in British India. As a body he was extrovert and sport loving. He was liked by his teachers and friends. Later that young boy became leader and participated in different activities and led the country from the front. He organized dissenters and rebellion against the British. He rose against the injustice and exploitation of West Pakistan against the Bengali population of East Pakistan. For his contribution we have got an independent country in the world map. Even after independence his work did not end. This great leader was assassinated and his family was massacred by a handful of junior army officers. For his contribution in nation building we the people of Bangladesh will never forget Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“জাতীয় জনক: শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান”
শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান ব্রিটিশ ভারতের বাংলা প্রদেশের পূর্বাঞ্চলের ফরিদপুরের গোপালগঞ্জ মহকুমার (বর্তমানে জেলা) টুঙ্গিপাড়া গ্রামে ১৭ মার্চ, ১৯২০ সালে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। শরীর হিসেবে তিনি ছিলেন বহির্মুখী এবং ক্রীড়াপ্রেমী। তিনি তার শিক্ষক এবং বন্ধুদের পছন্দ করতেন। পরে সেই যুবক নেতা হয়ে বিভিন্ন কর্মকাণ্ডে অংশগ্রহণ করে সামনে থেকে দেশকে নেতৃত্ব দেয়। তিনি ব্রিটিশদের বিরুদ্ধে ভিন্নমত ও বিদ্রোহ সংগঠিত করেছিলেন। তিনি পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের বাঙালি জনগোষ্ঠীর বিরুদ্ধে পশ্চিম পাকিস্তানের অন্যায় ও শোষণের বিরুদ্ধে উঠেছিলেন। তার অবদানের জন্য আমরা বিশ্বের মানচিত্রে একটি স্বাধীন দেশ পেয়েছি। স্বাধীনতার পরও তার কাজ শেষ হয়নি। এই মহান নেতাকে হত্যা করা হয় এবং তার পরিবারকে গুটিকয়েক জুনিয়র সেনা অফিসার দ্বারা হত্যা করা হয়। জাতি গঠনে তার অবদানের জন্য আমরা বাংলাদেশের মানুষ বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানকে কখনো ভুলবে না।
