Digital Bangladesh means digitalizing Bangladesh by ensuring an ICT based society where information will be available on line. Here all the possible tasks of government or semi-government will be performed using digital technology. The motto of digital Bangladesh is to establish technology based digital governance, e- commerce, e-agriculture, e-production, e-education etc. The benefits of digital Bangladesh are many. If we can establish a digital Bangladesh, corruption will be reduced radically. It will make people think globally and connect them with the whole world economically, socially, politically. academically and even culturally. It will improve our banking and financial activities. Agriculture, health, education, commerce all these sections will be highly benefited by making Bangladesh a digital one. To make our country digital first of all, uninterrupted power supply has to be ensured and we have to develop computer network skill and ensure equitable access. Finally, our education should be computer based and in primary and secondary schools students should get easy access to the computer. Digital Bangladesh is one of the nation’s dreams, and so special emphasis is given on the application of DIGITAL technologies to realise Vision 2021.

ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশ মানে একটি আইসিটি ভিত্তিক সমাজ নিশ্চিত করার মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশকে ডিজিটাল করা যেখানে তথ্য অনলাইনে পাওয়া যাবে। এখানে সরকারি বা আধা-সরকারি সকল সম্ভাব্য কাজ ডিজিটাল প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহার করে সম্পাদিত হবে। ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশের মূলমন্ত্র হলো প্রযুক্তিভিত্তিক ডিজিটাল গভর্নেন্স, ই-কমার্স, ই-কৃষি, ই-উৎপাদন, ই-শিক্ষা ইত্যাদি প্রতিষ্ঠা করা। ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশের সুবিধা অনেক। ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশ প্রতিষ্ঠা করতে পারলে দুর্নীতি আমূল হ্রাস পাবে। এটি মানুষকে বিশ্বব্যাপী চিন্তা করতে এবং অর্থনৈতিক, সামাজিক, রাজনৈতিকভাবে সমগ্র বিশ্বের সাথে সংযুক্ত করবে। একাডেমিক এবং এমনকি সাংস্কৃতিকভাবে। এতে আমাদের ব্যাংকিং ও আর্থিক কার্যক্রম উন্নত হবে। বাংলাদেশকে ডিজিটাল করার মাধ্যমে কৃষি, স্বাস্থ্য, শিক্ষা, বাণিজ্য এসব বিভাগ অত্যন্ত উপকৃত হবে। আমাদের দেশকে ডিজিটাল করার জন্য সর্বপ্রথম নিরবচ্ছিন্ন বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ নিশ্চিত করতে হবে এবং কম্পিউটার নেটওয়ার্কের দক্ষতা বিকাশ করতে হবে এবং সুষম অ্যাক্সেস নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। পরিশেষে, আমাদের শিক্ষা হওয়া উচিত কম্পিউটার ভিত্তিক এবং প্রাথমিক ও মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়ে শিক্ষার্থীদের কম্পিউটারে সহজে প্রবেশাধিকার পাওয়া উচিত। ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশ হচ্ছে জাতির অন্যতম স্বপ্ন, আর তাই ভিশন ২০২১ বাস্তবায়নের জন্য ডিজিটাল প্রযুক্তির প্রয়োগের ওপর বিশেষ জোর দেওয়া হচ্ছে।
