Tree plantation means planting tree in large number. Trees are very important to us in many ways. We cannot think of our existence without trees. Trees cover a great deal of our food deficiency by providing fruits and vitamins. They supply timber for various uses. Trees prevent se erosion. Many kinds of medicines are prepared form leaves, roots and barks of trees. Above all, they help us to keep ecological balance supplying oxygen. Generally trees are planted in July and August. They can be planted in road sides and in all educational institution. But our trees and forests are not sufficient in proportion to our total land area. To preserve our environment we should plant mor and more trees. Government should encourage the people for plantation by various media.

বৃক্ষরোপণ মানে প্রচুর পরিমাণে গাছ লাগানো। গাছ আমাদের কাছে নানাভাবে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। গাছ ছাড়া আমরা আমাদের অস্তিত্বের কথা ভাবতে পারি না। গাছ ফল ও ভিটামিন সরবরাহ করে আমাদের খাদ্যের ঘাটতি পূরণ করে। তারা বিভিন্ন ব্যবহারের জন্য কাঠ সরবরাহ করে। গাছ ক্ষয় রোধ করে। গাছের পাতা, শিকড় ও বাকল দিয়ে অনেক ধরনের ওষুধ তৈরি করা হয়। সর্বোপরি, তারা আমাদের অক্সিজেন সরবরাহকারী পরিবেশগত ভারসাম্য বজায় রাখতে সহায়তা করে। সাধারণত জুলাই ও আগস্ট মাসে গাছ লাগানো হয়। এগুলি রাস্তার পাশে এবং সমস্ত শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে লাগানো যেতে পারে। কিন্তু আমাদের মোট ভূমির পরিমাণের অনুপাতে আমাদের গাছ ও বন পর্যাপ্ত নয়। আমাদের পরিবেশ রক্ষার জন্য আমাদের আরও বেশি করে গাছ লাগাতে হবে। সরকারের উচিত বিভিন্ন গণমাধ্যমের মাধ্যমে বৃক্ষরোপণে জনগণকে উৎসাহিত করা।
